Last Assignment

Last time, we talked about condoms in erotica. Did you dig up any examples? How did you feel about them? I've been doing a lot of reading lately—and I talk about what I've come up with so far.

Does Grammar Matter?

Well, of course grammar matters! But maybe not as much as you might think, in your first draft. All of the things you need to concentrate on will get overwhelming if you try to tackle them all at the same time. Concentrate on interesting plots and characters while you get your first draft written. All the other stuff can be fixed later.

Your Assignment

Open a new page and type: Is my idea fresh?
Spend some time thinking about your plot, setting and characters. If they're cliche, but you still like the idea, consider what kind of spin can you put on them to make them more interesting.
Once your idea is firmly in your head, type: I will edit this later.
Type it multiple times, if you need to.
Then try to crank out a nice, stiff shot of words!
